Volunteer opportunities include being a buddy to a child with special needs (child care volunteer) or typically developing siblings, fundraising, blogging, social media, photography, being a site nurse, entertainment, a member of our board of directors, and more.
Buddies (child care volunteers) do NOT provide therapy of any kind. We have a registered nurse onsite at each event.
Children who attend Night Lights love hanging out with their “buddy.” In fact, it is one of their favorite parts about Night Lights.
When you volunteer, you are not only making a difference in the life of a child, but impacting the whole family.
By committing to a handful of hours one Friday each month, you give parents a break and the chance to refresh.

What does a child care volunteer/buddy do?

Provide childcare for children ages 4 weeks to 13 years old that have a variety of needs and abilities
Help with set-up and break-down of supplies, equipment, and check-in table
Greet families
Clean up after the event
Help create a safe and accepting environment for the children and families
Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with the children
Complete an update of your experience with the child at the end of the night

Volunteers must…

possess a passion for making the world a better place for children
pass a nationwide background and reference check (for volunteers 18 and older)
be 18 or older (14 years old if volunteering with a parent)
commit to volunteering 6 months a year (child care volunteer and nurse volunteer position only)
